An apology in advance for putting too many pictures in this blog, I’m starting my new wedding season tomorrow and wanted to put a few images together over the last year, as a kind of conclusion to it.
Really looking forward to shooting weddings again, last year I had some great brides and venues to work with, every wedding brought something a bit different.
I personally have been a professional photographer since 1999, shooting weddings and covering pretty much everything, as working in the press lends itself to new and interesting assignments. Don’t get me wrong, I also got sent to the same job over and over again…and again! This is only my second season in doing weddings with a website and GRW Photography branding, and it’s going well.
I feel a bit like the last twelve years in the press industry has been my boot camp for my wedding business if you like, training me up, learning all the people skills, decisive moments etc, cutting my photographic style teeth in the field, learning from and working with great photographers. I could name a handful of photographers I know who could have gone on or still work for huge press agencies, shooting for big players such as Reuters and Getty, easy.
I’m really enjoying it and always trying to improve the packages which I offer. I’ve got immense enthusiasm for it, as I’ve been able to shoot in my style, a natural documentary, with a gritty look and feel to it, laughter, tears, capturing all the emotions and couples are approaching me on this alone, which, is what I always wanted to achieve. I never feel competition from fellow wedding snappers, in fact, I have far more friends than enemies in this game, every photographer is a bit different, which is good, variety is the spice of life? Or something like that.
So underneath there are probably too many pictures, but if you’re genuinely interested and get to the end, then thank you, well done and happy Easter 🙂
