Look up “a lovely girl” in the English dictionary and up pops a picture of Rachel, a really nice bride to photograph. It was a pleasure to shoot Rachel and Karl’s wedding at Muddifords Court, in fact the whole family were great and made my day peering through a lens a whole lot easier.
It was very calm during the bridal prep pictures, as if we were all waiting for something to happen, a bit like in the Michael Caine film “Zulu”, waiting for them to come over the top of the mountain at Rorke’s Drift, but nothing happened, and no Zulus turned up at Muddifords either, which can only be a bonus.
They got married at a local church in Holcombe Rogus, just down the road. I love what pictures you can get from a church ceremony, mood and atmosphere a plenty, nervous grooms waiting at the alter, a bride in the church doorway awaiting her big entrance, love it all.
So back we went to Muddifords for the reception, the sun was out, and everyone was having a good time.
I particularly enjoyed the couple portraits at this wedding. If I get the opportunity I like to take the couple outside after the food and speeches, when everyone’s a bit more relaxed, and the sun is lower, giving a really nice feel to the finished pictures. The sun was in a good spot, so we had a walk around the grounds, and in particular to a field, where the yellow butter cups did us all proud, against a sexy blue sky.
A really top couple, great venue, with fab owners of Muddifords Court, nothing went wrong, even those Zulus never turned up.
Thanks for looking.
