I was recommended this wedding by a bride I photographed last summer, named Holly, who seems to be an ambassador for GRW Photography, as she keeps suggesting me to brides. 🙂
The wedding was of Pamela and Mike, in Cornwall, it was an intimate occasion, largely due to the fact the vicar who married them, was Pamela’s dad, who lived on the grounds of the church. To me this wedding was always going to be a little different, as Pam’s mum last year on her birthday suffered a massive stroke, they were told she wouldn’t survive the night, but thankfully over the next couple of weeks she got stronger, and learnt to walk and talk again over the coming months.
The plan was her mum was to walk her down the aisle on her wedding day, as her father was busy playing the vicar, and as her mum has been left disabled down one side this seemed a huge task, but her mum worked so hard to make this happen, and Pam was overwhelmed by her achievements.
As soon as I heard of Pam’s family background story, I was eager to shoot their wedding, and hopefully give them pictures and memories to look back on.
Her mum walked Pam down the aisle and gave her away, all couples I photograph at weddings have there own story, and life issues, every wedding I photograph is different, but this one especially.
I wish Pam and Mike and all their family the very best for the future.
Thanks for your time
