For as long as I can remember, I have been Welsh, which is good, Welsh is good, you know where you are in Wales, you’re in Wales, simple as that.
Hills, sheep and Brains beer.
I don’t live there anymore, haven’t for donkeys years, I’m now living in Devon, but when asked to shoot a wedding back home I was throthing at the chomp.
It was the wedding of Laura and Tony, a really top (tidysmart) couple, who I have grown to know through mutual friends over the past few years, their wedding was at the King Arthur Hotel in Reynoldston, Swansea.
The marriage ceremony itself took place in Llanelli, a very traditional Welsh church wedding, “Hymns and Arias” getting churned out top note by a male voice choir, a true Wales moment I was having, and you couldn’t move for Welsh kilts either, for a boy who left Wales over 15 years ago, to come back for a wedding like this, was a good welcome home to the hillside.
On the way to the King Arthurs Hotel we stopped on a stretch of road, where you could see Llanelli one side, and Swansea the other, the sun was out, and this made for some super pictures for the couple.
I stayed back with my mother that evening, up the road in the valleys, to ease the load of driving all the way back to Devon, but it still took me an hour and 45 to get back 🙂
Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy the blog.
