I love North Devon for weddings, travelling up from South Devon where I live, it always gives me a feeling of going to a whole different place.
Being a defector from South Wales 17 years ago, I still to this day feel that Devon and Cornwall are amazing places, especially to photograph weddings in and I feel very lucky to have both counties pretty much on my doorstep every day.
And so, the couple for this actual wedding were Sarah and Rich, a great pair to photograph, always smiling and having a laugh. The Woolhanger was the location for their wedding in North Devon. I had never been there before, but was bowled over when I did, amazing estate house with lush green grounds running all around it, lake at the bottom, sexy views, the wow factor was definitely there.
Both families were really cool people, and as I was laying on my propbox that evening, it ended up being a late one so Rich’s family offered I stay in their cottage on site, a stones throw away from the wedding venue, fab! I ended up having a jig on the dancefloor at the close of play that night with all the family and bridal party, with my camera bag on my shoulders, a very memorable wedding with some top people.
